Resurrection Sunday

On Friday, which Christians call Good Friday, Jesus was Crucified .  Jesus died on the Cross.  He was buried in cave.  a large stone was rolled in front of the cave.  There Jesus laid, alone in a tomb.

Praise the Lord on the 3rd day:

Luke:24:2

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of Jesus.

Luke 24:5-6

Two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them.  "Why do you look for the living, among the dead? He is not here;  He has risen!

Luke 24:7

The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.

Jesus rose from the dead.  .

This is why Christians celebrate Easter. 

Jesus died for us.  He was buried in a tomb and on the third day, God raised Jesus from the dead.

This is what Christians base their faith on.  God raised Jesus from the dead.

Jesus appeared to his disciples.

Luke 24:44

This is what I told you while I was with you:  Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Laws of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.

Luke 24:46-47-48-49

Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  You are to witness of these things.  I am going to send you what my Father  has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high

Mark 16:15

Go ye into the world and preach the good news to all creation.  Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned

Jesus Went up to Heaven

Luke 24:51

While He was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into Heaven.

1st Thessalonians 4:16

For the Lord himself will come down from Heaven with a loud command, and with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet called of God.

1st Thessalonians 4:17

We will be caught up together in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and we will be with the Lord forever

This is what Christians believe.  This is what we preach, the good news of Jesus Christ
